FAQ

  • Can I make a donation to the event?
Sure! Use this paypal link and donate what you can:

Your donation is secure with PayPal.

  • How much is this gonna cost me?
Gas, food, camping, stuff (if you want some). Figure the camping will be $22.00 a day INCLUDING BREAKFAST (with BACON). It's about $35-45 for a t-shirt (depending on size and style), and sticker. Then gas, lunch, and supper Saturday (we'll even feed you Thursday and Friday night - so long as you like hot dogs!). Not bad for a great trip with fabulous riding and interesting people.

  • What? No registration or event fee?
Nope, but feel free to make a donation! $10-$20 a person would be very helpful to keep things running.

  • Do I need a reservation for camping?
Yes. Please contact the Triangle T Guest Ranch directly to reserve either tent, RV or cabin space.

  • Do I need to register?
You don't have to, but it would really help to get an idea of how many are planning to show up and make ride planning and food arrangements easier.

  • How hard is the riding?
Check the RIDES page for more information on the rides but they've been categorized from (1 = easy on any bike) to (6 = hard even on a small bike).

  • Do I need special equipment?
We have attempted to offer either GPX files or post a printable map for all rides that you should print out and bring with you. If you have a GPS unit, bring it. You will not need a roll chart holder.

  • I only have a street bike, is that okay?
Sure, there are some rides that you'll not want to do but, the level 1 rides are definitely do-able on a street bike and there's also plenty of nice twisty asphalt around, too.

  • Do I really have to camp?
No, there are cabin rooms available and hotels in town if you aren't the outdoorsy type. Check the LODGING page for more information.

  • How long are the rides?
That depends on the ride but figure between 100 to 200 miles.

  • If I decide not to go on the rides, are there other things to do?
Yes, check the HIGHLIGHTS page for lots of other activities in the area.

  • What if I need to trailer my bike?
No problem, there's room at the base camp for off-loading your bike (or bikes) and leaving the trailering equipment while out riding.

  • Can I bring an RV?
    Yep.

  • What's the weather like?
Early Spring in Southern Arizona tends to be fairly mild. Expect it to be bright and sunny with lows in the mid to high 30's and highs in the mid to high 60's. It has been known to lightly snow the end of February but the beginning of March should be nice.

  • Do I have to ride with a group?
No. Ride how you feel comfortable. All rides are "rider's choice" with no designated ride leaders or groups. Folks who choose to form a group are encouraged to have a pre-ride meeting to discuss any group expectations, means of communicating within the group, passing protocols for passing other vehicles and passing within the group, and dealing with route turns.

  • Is this a race of some kind?
No. It's just a gathering of folks who like to ride Dual Sport motorcycles.

  • Is this a business?
No. It's just a few folks in Arizona who thought it'd be fun to have a bunch of folks on Dual Sport motorcycles show up and hang out for a weekend.

  • Is this the most fun you can have with your clothes on?
Yes, of course! Riding through an amazing landscape with great folks - what more can you ask for?

  • print out a paper map if you want one
  • camping gear
  • leave your pets at home
  • bring you S.O. if you want

  • FIX your bike BEFORE you come
  • bring the special whatzit tool that fits that weird fastener on your bike that, if you don't have it, makes it impossible to get to the one thing on your bike you need to fiddle with to get it to start again if dropped
  • bring your meds if you need them
  • byob if that's your preference but save it for after the ride - there's also a Saloon at the Triangle T

Okay - this is the part that we all hate to have to deal with, but, here it is:

  • You are voluntarily participating in an activity with potential hazards. By act of your participation, you agree that you are responsible for any and all issues, risks, liabilities, damages or injuries that may arise from your activites.

  • You agree to ride within your limits and be honest about what your limits are.

  • You agree to hold harmless any and all other participants who may also be voluntarily participating in any activity as well as landowners whose holdings you may travese.

  • You agree to clean up after yourself and check your speed and dust when approaching pedestrians, vehicles, residential areas, horseback riders or other off road users.

  • You agree to refrain from wildcatting your own trails and agree to stick to established trails.

  • You agree to abide by posted property signs and turn back at locked gates, leave open gates open and close closed gates once you've proceeded through.
